Daniel Sommer was born and resides in Munich. Combining his passion for sport and photography from an early age, Sommer has developed into one of Europe‘s most distinctive and individual interpreters of sport and the athletes who dominate their respective disciplines. In recognition of his unique creative direction, his work has received several awards both nationally in Germany and abroad. His editorial works have appeared in numerous publications worldwide as well as having worked on assignment for several of the world‘s largest sports brands.
His recent commercial projects include award-winning campaigns for German hardware store giant Hornbach, the “Munich Seeks a Cycle Star” campaign for the city of Munich, as well as photographic support for Oakley athletes at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Editorially Daniel has recently completed a session with Philipp Lahm which is set to be printed through out Europe.
